Attributes of Soy Candles

I have worked in the retail industry for many years in the cosmetic field for several top cosmetic lines
and in speaking with people I have found many have never heard of Soy wax candles and therefore would not know why or how Soy wax candles would make a superior candle to paraffin wax candles.
Soy wax holds color and fragrance better and longer than paraffin wax. Soy wax is biodegradable and water soluble which makes for easy cleanup if an accident should happen. No carcinogens are produced from burning Soy wax which means a healthier environment. Soy wax candles burn 30% to 50% longer than paraffin based candles and will leave virtually no soot nor will they discolor your walls or furniture. Lastly, using Soy benefits the American farmer by utilizing home grown products and resources.
Fragrance or scent is an often forgotten or ignored part of our daily lives and habits. However, it may have an enormous effect on our health and state of mind. A favorite scent may set the mood for an evening of romance or create an atmosphere of welcome and comfort. A good rule of thumb when burning a Soy wax candle is to allow the candle to liquify to the edge of the container forming a good melt pot. A Soy wax candle should burn approximately 9 hours per ounce of Soy wax when properly maintained by keeping the wick centered and trimmed to 3/8 to 1/4 inch.

Tip! Use unscented candles on the dining table so the flavor of the meals will not be overwhelmed by the candle’s scent.

Now, working in cosmetics and fragrances I was introduced to many fragrant cosmetic candles and always enjoyed them but within a short period of time I would find myself banning the candle to the back of a cabinet or disposing of it entirely due to the way it burned or discolored, not the case with Soy wax candles.
